Yesterday we sat down with Theresa Johnson, Managing Director at Beaver Street Enterprise Center, to learn more about her role and what Beaver Street can offer Jacksonville entrepreneurs.

About Beaver Street

The Beaver Street Enterprise Center was launched in 2001 as an initiative of FreshMinistries, Inc., with support from the Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation, and opened its doors in 2003. Located in the city’s northwest quadrant in both state Enterprise and federal Empowerment Zones, the non-profit Center has support from a number of valued partners and is currently home to 48 successful companies and organizations.

Office Space

BSEC provides office furnishings to meet the needs of members, and phone and high-speed wired internet is available for a nominal additional charge. Both our buildings meet all ADA standards for handicap accessibility. Office spaces start at $200/month.

Training

In addition, tenants have access to mentoring, workshops, help with business plans, marketing, direction on financing, excellent networking opportunities and much more. The Beaver Street Enterprise Center is affiliated with JaxSmallBizHelp, and First Coast Business Alliance. We partner with the Women’s Business Center, Jax Chamber, the Small Business Development Center of the University of North Florida, SCORE, the Small Business Administration and Brenau University. The SBDC maintains offices at the Beaver Street Enterprise Center.
